Red Hot Mama:
The Reds (and 21 other teams) had an off-day yesterday. For the Reds, it was their third day off in the last two weeks. It’s like watching baseball in France.
The Red Hot Family used the off-day to catch our local AAA team, the Indianapolis Indians (a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate). The Indians utterly spanked the Rochester Red Wings (a Washington Nationals affiliate), 0-16.
Tonight the Reds play host to their “in-state rival,” the … [visit site to read more]

Ranking the Redlegs' best hitters up onto this point in the season from 10-1. Here we go:
10. Devin Mesoraco It pains me to put Devin Mesoraco at 10th but he has not been having a good year. That may be due to the lack of playing time he is receiving...

The half way point of the season is nearly upon us. That means it is time to name the All Stars for the system.
Starting Pitcher – Tony Cingrani
Was there even another choice here? Cingrani has arguably put up the best stats of any starting pitcher in the minor leagues when we consider where he had to pitch. He leads the organization with a 1.17 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 17 walks and 85...
Despite trailing early on, the Reds came back to win authoritatively last night. They beat the Indians in the first game of the series, 1-7.
Johnny Cueto started and ended for the Reds. In 9.0 innings pitched he allowed 1 run on 6 hits and 0 walks. Damn.
The bench all had the dreaded flu-like symptoms last night, so the line-up looked a little funny and not a single pinch-hitter...
The Reds and Indians faced off in the first game of a three game series in the battle of the Ohio Cup. After a pretty devastating loss on Sunday night in a game that looked like the guys should have won against the Tigers it was a perfect game for Johnny Cueto to pitch in. Cueto had a brilliant performance in a 7-1 victory over the Indians.
Let's see how the game unfolded...
Some Reds players dipped into a pot of chicken soup in the dining area of the clubhouse and filled their bowls, trying to get some food gentle on the stomach. Others went into the trainer's room to get more intravenous fluids.
Old remedies and new ones, too, were used for a team nearly flatted by a stomach virus.
The worst seemed to be behind the Reds heading into their game...
The All-Star teams are now out for all of the leagues that are playing right now except for AAA, who actually uses fan voting for its starters. Here are the Reds players who were named to an All Star team:
Southern League (AA):
Daniel Corcino – RHP
JC Sulbaran – RHP
Didi Gregorius – SS
Ryan LaMarre – OF
Josh Fellhauer – OF
Henry Rodriguez – 3B (injured)
CINCINNATI - The Reds really needed a win Tuesday night.
Really, really needed one. Really, really needed their ace to deliver, too.
They got it -- got all of the above -- and with a flurry of offense late they were even able to exhale late. They just couldn't share many high-fives and hugs because of a flu bug making its way around the clubhouse.
And that's what made...
The Reds drew first blood in the Battle for Ohio last night, beating the Indians 1-7. Johnny Cueto threw a complete game in 122 pitches. Hopefully that doesn’t wear him out for next time.
The war wages on tonight at 7:10 p.m. at Great American Ball Park. Mike Leake is sick, so Mat Latos (4-2, 4.85 ERA) will take the mound for the Reds and defend against Derek...

There is a debate in Reds country about the opposing teams packing our home turf. The Detroit Tigers fans were very loud and very proud, particularly on Sunday night. Here we go again.

Austin Jackson hit a two-run double off Aroldis Chapman during Detroit's four-run eighth inning and the Tigers rallied for a 7-6 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday night.
Virtually unhittable all season, Chapman (4-2) entered with two on in the eighth and the Reds leading 6-3. He gave up a single to pinch-hitter Brennan Boesch that loaded the bases and hit Matt Young...

this guy from hitting.
After experiencing a great month of May record-wise, the Redlegs (32-27) have fallen on tougher times in June. They've lost four out of six on their current homestand and have allowed the Pittsburgh Pirates to gain a share of the division lead. The blame for this recent downward spiral can be spread across the...
