I guess if you’re going to lose a game after winning a bunch, then you might as well lose big. Edinson Volquez had a rough night to say the least, and for once Jhoulys Chacin had a very good outing. In fact, the Padres made the Rockies look like a great time last night. Nine runs is a lot to overcome even if they only needed two to pull off the victory. The Padres had chances but squandered every one of them. It was a rough one to watch, but that is what I love about baseball, they go out the next day and try again. Unlike football where if you lose you dwell on it for a week, baseball you get right back out there and get back to the winning ways. Sunday has usually been pretty kind to the Padres, let’s hope that remains the case today.
