Johnny Damon hasn't decided whether he will continue his major league career. But he's still playing baseball at the moment - for Team Thailand. Damon, 39, will suit up for the Thai national baseball team during the World Baseball Classic qualifier at Xinzhuang Stadium in New Taipei City, Taiwan, held Nov. 15-18. Damon is eligible to play for the team because his mother is Thai. Teams from Chinese Taipei, New Zealand and the Philippines also are competing in the tournament. The winner advances to the 16-team World Baseball Classic, which will be held for the third time in March. Damon's longtime agent, Scott Boras, spoke about the outfielder during his remarks to reporters at the general managers' meetings, noting Damon's decision to play there precipitated the "first call I've ever gotten from Bangkok." The WBC qualifier will be Damon's first action since a disappointing season with the Cleveland Indians, in which he batted .222 with four home runs and 19 RBI in 64 games. He w...
