Rhode Island, for the most part, is usually very nice this time of the year. For Red Sox pitcher Daniel Bard, however, the Ocean State has been a house of horrors. Of course, Bard's wince-inducing struggles started before his demotion to Triple-A Pawtucket. The fireballer hit the lowest of lows on June 3. In just 1 2/3 innings of work, Bard hit walked six, hit two and gave up a hit in a five-run outing against the Blue Jays. Shortly thereafter he was sent to Pawtucket to try and figure things out.
