I've heard people refer to Daniel Cabrera as the right handed Oliver Perez, a ton of talent that always teasing teams into believing he's on the verge of a break out only to disappoint with his wildness.Omar Minaya admitted last off-season he was keeping an eye on Cabrera's progress in winter ball. Between the D-Backs and the Nats, Cabrera went 0-6 with a 6.00ERA in 15 appearances ( 9 starts), he struck out 23 and walked 42 while hitters had a .285 BA. His agent is looking for a deal that includes a 40man roster spot, presumably a minor league deal but with that roster spot he gets call-up consideration and service time. I won't be surprised if we hear Omar's interested but I hope he passes...Just talked with agent Michael Powers. He's looking for a 40-man roster spot for Daniel Cabrera. Big arm but a 6.00 ERA this year. source Jon Morosi twitter
