Ok, I'm not going to lie... I went to bed at the rain delay. Yes, I know the game was nearly over, but I just wanted to lay in bed and catch up on the new season of "The Killing". Awesome show, by the way... and the game never restarted, so I dodn't miss anything as the Royals won 3-0 in the rain-shortened game.
My early bow-out aside, Danny Duffy kept the streak of stellar starts from Kansas City pitchers alive, tossing 6 innings of 1-hit ball, the only hit from the Oakland Athletics all night, while striking out 8 and walking 4.
Control has been a bit of an issue in Duffy's short career, but no need to dwell on that today. I will take 4 walks coulped with 1 hit and ZERO runs any day. That's a WHIP of 0.83.
Aaron Crow entered in the 7th, threw a full inning, striking out 2 and was awarded the save when the game was cancelled in the 8th inning.
The only Athletics hit came from shortstop Cliff Pennington in the 3rd inning, who was then picked off 2nd base.
At the plate...
