According to a source close to Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes, David Ortiz is planning to accept the Red Sox's arbitration offer on Wednesday. Ortiz will remain a Red Sox at least for another season. Yesterday, we learned that the Red Sox were focused on re-singing Ortiz. Ortiz hit .309/.398/.554 with 29 HR's, 84 runs and 96 RBI's in 525 AB's for the Red Sox in 2011. The 36-year old veteran earned $12.5 million in 2011. That means he got paid $431,034.48 for every home run he hit, or $130,208.33 for every RBI, or $148,809.52 for every run he scored, or $51,867.22 for every time he got on base.
