Detroit will send center fielder Austin Jackson to the Seattle Mariners and the Mariners are sending prospects Drew Smyly and Nick Franklin to Tampa Bay to complete the trade.
Price lost his start Wednesday night but has otherwise been stellar this season, registering an 11-8 record with a 3.11 ERA and leading the league in both innings pitched (170.2) and strikeouts (189). The 6’6″ lefty has one year remaining on his contract and will be a free agent in 2015.
We’ll update with more details as they become available.
