The Red Sox sent Manny Delcarmen to the Colorado Rockies for minor league pitcher Chris Balcom-Miller. Word is Boston will eventually trade Chris to Seattle so the Mariners can corner the market on pitchers with hyphenated names. Manny’s great control of 2006-2008 faded the last two years, as did his strikeout rate. The right-hander had been especially tough on lefty hitters, holding them to a .165 batting average. Of course, that’s only over 79 at bats. Balcom-Miller is till in the low minors, but he’s posting great K/BB/HR numbers there. I can see why the Red Sox would be interested in him.
