Hot Josh Satin Could Hurt Mets’ Chances Of Trading Ike Davis

The New York Mets are close to entering the dilemma stage with first baseman Ike Davis. At the beginning of the season Davis was considered part of the Mets’ core, but for the second straight year slumped out of the gate. This time, the Mets tired of waiting for the flourish that never came and shipped him to Triple-A Las Vegas where he would presumably get “fixed,’’ by manager...

Zack Wheeler: Early Bust or Budding Brilliance?

When he debuted just a few weeks ago, Zack Wheeler was met with tremendous fanfare.  Since then, and a 5.09 ERA with nine earned runs given up later, there have been whispers amongst the fan base, the amateur pontiffs in social media, and overly-opinionated professionals like Craig Carton of WFAN, that Wheeler is a bust.  While it may be debatable whether or not he was called up...

Matt Harvey Making All-Star Push

HARVEY: Should be named NL starter in All-Star Game After tonight’s start for the New York Mets, the next time Matt Harvey steps on the Citi Field mound should be to start the All-Star Game. Support for Harvey to start has gone on for several weeks to the point of it now being a brushfire. San Francisco and National League manager Bruce Bochy all but named Harvey the starter yesterday...

Report: Diamondbacks in talks for Gallardo

It’s no secret the Diamondbacks’ rotation is in need of a boost, and that boost may come in the form of veteran ace Yovani Gallardo. Mets Card of the Week: 2000 Mike Piazza

2000 IONIX AWESOME POWERS MIKE PIAZZA Continuing on with our brief series of goofily named insert cards, this week we present for your consideration a 2000 Upper Deck Ionix Mike Piazza Awesome Powers. Yeah baby! Ionix was a one-and-done offering from Upper Deck, and it is as much a product of the year 2000 as Y2K hangovers and Subway Series remorse. It contains a swath of tech...

King of New York: Comparing Derek Jeter and David Wright

At 30-years-old in his 10th professional season in the major leagues, David Wright has earned the distinction as the King of New York. He is the most valuable position player in the city in 2013 just the same as he was in 2008, and when comparing his first body of work to Derek Jeter’s first 10 seasons, it’s close to undeniable to proclaim that Wright hasn’t been at or above...

Mets-Brewers Preview

Following a promising debut, top prospect Zack Wheeler hasn't been quite as sharp for the New York Mets. Perhaps a date with one of the worst teams in baseball can boost his confidence. The Mets will try to begin a nine-game road trip in positive fashion Friday night when they send the hard-throwing right-hander to the mound against the lowly Milwaukee Brewers. While he hasn...

MMO Spotlight: Josh Satin Has Always Been A Good Hitter

It’s pretty easy rooting for Josh Satin. All the kid has really ever wanted to do is play baseball, and wherever he’s played, he’s excelled. Two things remain consistent about Satin’s baseball run over a lengthy span of years. The kid can hit and more often than not, he’s selected as an all-star. Satin was a three time all-star selection as a Wolverine for the Harvard Westlake...
