Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has pulled himself out of the All-Star game citing emotional and physical exhaustion from his pursuit of 3,000 hits.  Jeter gave Bud Selig and the rest of baseball the proverbial finger by not jumping on a plane and being honored at tonight’s All Star Game.  On behalf of baseball fans everywhere, this is one of the biggest loads of garbage I’ve ever seen at the professional level. Tough to come up with a bigger cop-out than “emotional and physical exhaustion” after coming off the disabled list a week ago.  Must be that grind, huh Derek?  Nobody is asking him to play in the game; in fact the American League is probably better off not having his unbelievably limited range and sub-par bat in the lineup in a game that actually has meaning.  All Selig wants is for Jeter to show up to the field, tip his hat to the crowd and the national audience that will be tuned in, and call it a day.  Is getting on a ch...
