New York Yankees Derek Jeter has started more baseball activities in his continued rehab at Tampa, Florida minor league complex.
Jeter starting fielding grounders hit directly at him as well as swinging a bat. Derek had been with the team through their last homestand and was seen playing catch in the outfield.
The Captain is scheduled to see the surgeon who performed the original surgery, Dr. Robert Anderson, in Charlotte, N.C. sometime this week. Anderson is expected to view the new CT scan during the exam.
New York hasn’t given a definitive time line for the 39 year old shortstop’s return. The 13-time All-Star has had his most frustrating season ever in Pinstripes. Jeter originally broke the left ankle in last year’s American League Championship and fractured it again during Spring Training this season. Jeter has openly declined to put a time-line on his return as well.
