There is a lot to get excited about for Cleveland Indians’ fans next season with the recent acquisition of Derek Lowe. Admittedly, Ubaldo Jimenez did not perform great last year, but he will feel a lot less pressure with Derek Lowe on the team.
If the two pitchers can stay healthy, they should give the Indians the top two pitchers in the American League Central. It should be a great off season for Ubaldo Jimenez who hopefully will bring back the velocity on his trademark fastball, changeup and slider.
I expect Derek Lowe to continue to be a figher on the mound and consistently give the team a chance to win any time he pitches. The Indians finished second in the division last season, but should improve a lot next season. On paper, the team has certainly gained quite a bit of ground to compete with the Detroit Tigers for the American League Central division title next season.
