The July 31, 4:00 PM eastern, Major League Baseball trade deadline has come and gone.
For the Detroit Tigers, it was the means for a single trade.
Sending rookie spot starter, Luke French, and prospect, Mauricio Robles for Seattle's Jarrod Washburn.
Jarrod Washburn was drafted by the California Angels in the second round of the 1995 amateur draft.
He has spent his entire career in the A.L. West, spanning eight seasons with the California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels, and playing three full seasons with Seattle.
The addition of Washburn will allow the Tigers to put him in between Justin Verlander and Edwin Jackson to make a right-left-right combination.
Detroit knew they needed to pick up another strong arm with rookie, Rick Porcello, struggling of late and last year's hero, Armando Galarraga, doing the same.
This season for the Mariners, Washburn was 8-6, with a 2.64 ERA (3rd in the AL), 1.007 WHIP (T-1st in AL) and boasted a 2.39 K/BB.
