MLB Trade Rumors:
The Diamondbacks have agreed to a one-year deal with Brad Ziegler, avoiding arbitration, MLBTR has learned. The right-handed reliever will earn $1.795MM in 2012.
Ziegler posted a 2.16 ERA with 6.8 K/9 and 2.9 BB/9 in 58 1/3 innings for the Athletics and Diamondbacks in 2011. He was arbitration eligible for the second time this offseason after earning $1.25MM last year. As MLBTR's Arbitration Tracker shows, the Riverfront Sports client filed for $1.945MM while the Diamondbacks countered with a $1.46MM offer. Craig Breslow, Miguel Montero and Ryan Roberts are the Diamondbacks' remaining arbitration eligible players.
