While the situation with Manny Ramirez has taken the front seat in the baseball headlines, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced the release of General Manager Bob Melvin. The team had previously been in the running for the NL west according to several resources and experts before the season began and has all but, fallen apart over the last several weeks. MLB sources have confirmed that Chip Hale will not be his replacement. This makes the situation even more interesting.
