The Arizona Diamondbacks extended the contracts of general manager Kevin Towers and manager Kirk Gibson through the 2014 season.
The three-year extensions for the two men include mutual options for two additional years, the club announced Friday.
The Diamondbacks enjoyed a quick turnaround in Gibson's first year on the job. They won 94 games and made the playoffs on the heels of consecutive 90-loss campaigns.
Towers, also in his first year with Arizona, served as San Diego's general manager from 1995-2009.
