Following the Arizona Diamondbacks surprising agreement with free agent Cody Ross, the team is working to trade an outfielder, according to Buster Olney of ESPN. Arizona is, in fact, working to trade an outfielder, in the aftermath of the Ross deal. Kubel is regarded as the most likely guy to be dealt — Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) December 22, 2012 Olney adds that Jason Kubel, who the Diamondbacks signed last offseason, is “regarded as the most likely guy to be dealt.” Beyond Kubel, Arizona’s current outfield also includes Justin Upton, who’s had his name come up in several trade rumors since the summer. The Diamondbacks also have Gerardo Parra and younger outfield options such as Adam Eaton and A.J. Pollock. The Diamondbacks have already traded an outfielder this winter when they sent Chris Young to the Oakland Athletics as a part of the three-team deal that netted them former Miami Marlins closer Heath Bell. Kubel was solid in his first season with the Diamondbacks, hitting .253/.327/.506 with 30 doubles and 30 home runs over 571 at-bats. The 30-year-old owns a career line of .268/.334/.467 over eight years at the major league level.
