The Diamondbacks are discussing outfielder Jason Kubel with
the Baltimore Orioles, and Arizona is seeking young pitchers from the O’s in
return, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. However, to this point, Heyman says
that Baltimore is “disinclined to do that.”

After signing Cody Ross earlier this offseason, the
Diamondbacks are said to be looking to trade one of their extras. There have
been rumors that Arizona would rather move Kubel than Justin Upton.
The Orioles have been seeking a bat all offseason. While
their primary target seems to be first base, general manager Dan Duquette may
have to get creative to add an impact bat to his lineup.

higher demand than right-hander Chris Tillman. Beyond Tillman, Baltimore has

2012 was a vintage year for football. Spain won another international tournament, Real pinched La Liga from Barcelona and the Premier League was more exciting than ever. The Diamondbacks are looking to get young pitching from the Orioles in a trade for outfielder Jason Kubel, but Baltimore has been reluctant to do that to this point, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Arizona has a surplus of outfielders and some believe that they would prefer to trade Kubel instead of the more desirable than Justin Upton.
The 30 year old Kubel batted .253...
The Baltimore Orioles brought top prospect Manny Machado to the Major Leagues last season. And boy are they are glad they did. Machado instantly made an impact and showed he belonged in the Majors. But he's just getting started. Former Orioles shortstop Mike Bordick talked about the Orioles and about Machado's future.
Roch Kubatko of MASN says that Bordick was...
Left-hander Joe Saunders remains a free agent, but the
veteran told Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun that he hopes to re-sign with
the Baltimore Orioles.
“I’m a pretty patient kind of guy. I’ve always been that
kind of guy, to really wait and see how it all plays out,” said Saunders, who
was 3-3 with a 3.63 ERA in seven regular season starts with the Orioles...
The Baltimore Orioles were baseball’s feel-good story in 2012, rising from obscurity and without expectations to become a wild card playoff winner over the Texas Rangers. Many credited manager Buck Showalter for the team’s change in attitude, and it looks like the Orioles are ready to reward him for the team’s success.
According to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman, Showalter — The...
Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter is close to getting a three-year contract extension, CBS Sports reported Friday night. The deal could be announced next week. It will keep him in Baltimore through 2016. Several Baltimore-area media outlets reported that Showalter met with Orioles owner Peter Angelos on Friday. The Orioles, under Showalter, finished 93-69 last year....

Yesterday we learned that at some point in July the Padres and Diamondbacks at least discussed the possibility of a trade involving Chase Headley and Justin Upton. Those discussions were supposed to have continued on and off since. The report on MLBTraderumors attributed that information as coming from “major league sources,” and while...
PHOENIX -- Scratch San Diego off the list of possible landing spots for Justin Upton or Jason Kubel.
The Padres and D-backs front-office teams touched base about a possible trade involving Upton, according to a baseball source, but were unable to find a match because the player the D-backs are most interested in acquiring, third baseman Chase Headley, will not be traded.
With about five to six weeks before pitchers and catchers report to the various camps of the 30 MLB franchises in both Florida and Arizona, most teams are into the home stretch of the winter.
As we as fans know, the Orioles at glance have not done much with retooling their roster. Now, we are still in early January and there's more to be done by Dan Duquette along with...
You just never know what you might come across on the internet. Today a brief post on MLBTR really caught my attention. Citing “major league sources,” Zach Links writes that a potential deal involving Padres 3B Chase Headley going to the Diamondbacks in exchange for OF Justin Upton has been discussed on and off since last July.
That rumored deal probably made a lot more sense...
Justin Upton for Chase Headley?
The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres have held on-and-off discussions about a trade involving those players since July, but the talks have failed to progress, according to major-league sources.
The Diamondbacks, however, continue to discuss Upton with other clubs, including the Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners, sources say, while also...
The Mets and Diamondbacks have had discussions about potential trades involving outfielders Justin Upton and Jason Kubel, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Heyman adds that Arizona’s asking price was too rich for the Mets’ tastes on Upton, while Kubel wasn’t a perfect fit for the team.
I wonder what they wanted for Upton?
With Alderson you just never know because when...
It looks like Dontrelle Willis may not be retired after all. The Chicago Cubs have signed the left-handed pitcher to a minor league contract. Willis has not pitched in the Majors since 2011, and he recently announced his retirement. However, it looks like that retirement was short-lived.
According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Cubs signed Willis to a minor league deal...
As we all know, the Orioles had a wildly successful 2012, and there has been a continuous discussion as to if - or when - manager Buck Showalter would be signed to a contract extension.
Fans have been wondering if he would be in the organization long term, and now we may have an answer.
According to MASN's Roch Kubatko and CBS Sports' Paul Heyman, the Orioles...
Pitcher Dontrelle Willis announced his retirement last July, but he's had a change of heart and is going to give it another try with the Chicago Cubs. Willis has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Cubs, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. The deal only includes an invitation to a minor-league camp, but he could get a shot with the Cubs if he pitches well. The...
