The Diamondbacks have been receiving Stephen Drew updates for months -- the shortstop has been working out with a non-team-affiliated trainer -- and although spring training is only about two weeks away, there is little that can be said definitively on his status.
The Arizona Diamondbacks bought themselves another month-and-a-half to work out a long-term contract extension with their All-Star catcher by signing Miguel Montero to a one-year deal just before their scheduled arbitration hearing. Montero has imposed a March 20 deadline to finalize an extension, at which point he will focus all of his energy on the upcoming season.

There were some big expectations surrounding Daniel Hudson last season after his performance to end the 2010 season (7-1, 1.69 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, 7.9 K/9).
