The Arizona Diamondbacks plan to release righthander Aaron Heilman. FOXSportsArizona.com reported that Heilman left the locker room Monday night with his bags packed after cleaning out his locker. Heilman signed a one-year, $2 million contract with Arizona in the offseason. He arrived at spring training expecting to contend for a spot in the rotation but has been regressively demoted to setup man, middle relief and mop-up duty. Heilman, 32, is 4-1 with five holds and a 6.88 ERA in 35 1/3 innings this season. He has given up five runs in his last 3 2/3 frames.
