Arizona Diamondbacks' owner, Ken Kendrick, said that there's a 90% chance that Justin Upton will be with the team when Spring Training begins (via Jon Heyman of CBSSports). Although they're listening to offers for the young outfielder. Heyman writes that the Diamondbacks, who want a young shortstop, were asking the Rangers for Elvis Andrus or Jurickson Profar, but the Rangers don't want to part ways with none of them. Some executives believes that the D'backs were expecting more from Upton, although Kendrick says otherwise. “I'm a big Justin fan,” Kendrick said. “He was drafted 1-1, and the fan expectation was so extraordinary. I think the fan base has seen flashes of an extraordinary talent. Justin's still young. All of us as young people aren't as consistent with what we do until we become a little more mature. Justin suffers from very high expectations. But he's had extraordinary success. And I think he has a lot more to contribute.” Upton, 25, hit .280/.355/.430 with 17 HR's, 67 RBI's and a .341 wOBA in 628 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks in 2012. He had a -2.1 UZR in the outfield and a production value of $11.5 million, almost twice his current salary. Image by CEBImagery.com under the Creative Commons License Agreement.
