Did You Know? Carlos Lee’s a Cattle Rancher!

It’s true. The Astros outfielder, whose 2011 season was previewed in Spring Training on Houston Hotbed, is an avid cattle ranching enthusiast and manages to tend to over 300 cows on one of his nearby Texas ranches alone (see video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjpYSpzdHNY It doesn’t stop there! Lee’s passion actually extends to his native Panama, where he owns significant property and frequently travels to to visit family and friends and of course, herd some cattle. In 2008, Carlos donated $25, 000 and over 300 bales of hay to support local ranchers whose properties were ravaged by Hurricane Ike.
