So Bryce Harper hit 8 home runs in the first round of the 2013 Home Run Derby, good enough to move on to the second round. Chris Davis hit his 37th home run to tie the AL record before
the All-Star break, and the Baltimore Orioles cruised past the
Toronto Blue Jays 7-4 Sunday.
Chris Davis is having himself one heck of a season. The Baltimore Orioles first baseman already has 37 home runs, and it’s only the All-Star break.
His 37 home runs put him in elite company, as he is now tied with Mark McGwire and Reggie Jackson with the second-most homers at the break in MLB history. The only player to hit more home runs than “Crush Davis” before the break...
Right now Chris Davis can do no wrong. The slugging first basemen of the Baltimore Orioles hit his 35th home run on Friday night and followed it up with another on Saturday to give him 36.
After J.J. Hardy hit a game winning home run on Friday, Davis gave teammate Adam Jones a wet willie.
Perfect execution. The Air-Star game is this week and Davis will be there as the AL starter at first.

At an age where most of his contemporaries are in college or the low minors, he's a two-time All-Star. Assuming health, ordinary development and a future free of PED convictions, he projects out to something...
With a zip-zip score in the fourth inning of the 2013 All Star Game and runners on the corners, Miguel Cabrera figured the American League needed to make something happen. So Cabrera, while leading off third, he gave the steal sign to Orioles first baseman Chris Davis.
Was it because he thought Davis could run on Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina? Heck no. Cabrera was obviously hoping...
