Found June 14, 2012 on The Platoon Advantage:
On Tuesday night, I tweeted* that it seemed the Red Sox/Marlins game had been on for "like six hours now." Always a fan of hyperbole, it was more a statement to the fact that Mark Buehrle was pitching in a game that was now over the three-hour mark. While most understood the point I was making, @rRaindog63 (also known as Bill outside of cyberspace, a quick Googlin' tells me) felt the need to challenge by hyperbolized comment with one of his own: {Insert Tweet ScreenGrab Here} I feel like I know Bill well after reading his 140 character self-description of himself. Bill is a father, a Mets fan, a history teacher turned librarian, and a writer. I'm not sure which library he works at, so I can't confirm he's actually a librarian, nor have I read anything he's ever written—but let's assume all of these things are true, including the Mets fan part. Small sample size, but Bill is wearing a Mets hat in his Twitter avatar, so let's assume that Bill ...

Mark Buehrle Will Have Harder Time Against Red Sox Than He Ever Did in Other Interleague Starts (Video)

Mark Buehrle has been historically good at interleague play. In fact, he's won his last 10 decisions against foes from the opposite league. This time, however, there's a twist. Tuesday night will be the first start of Buehrle's National League career against an American League team, and not vice versa. That could spell good news for the Red Sox, who are badly in need...

Two Run Seventh Sinks Miami

Mark Buehrle was magnificent for the Miami Marlins outside of one inning but that was enough for the Boston Red Sox who won 2-1 on Tuesday.   The loss moved the Marlins to 3-8 in June as they continued to bring back memories of June 2011.   Miami is now back in fourth place in the division and has also fallen six games behind the fist place Washington Nationals after starting...

Red Sox Look to Break Offensive Slump Against Familiar Foe Mark Buehrle (Video)

The Red Sox offense is mired in a "team slump," that much is obvious. The question is, how to fix it? Granted, the Red Sox have had to face some top-caliber pitching lately -- seeing the likes of Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmermann and Josh Johnson the last four days -- but eventually good teams have to face good pitching. On Tuesday night the Sox face a...

David Ortiz Not in Red Sox Lineup Against Mark Buehrle, Marlins, Despite Past Success Against Southpaw

The Red Sox may be in an unfamiliar ballpark, but they'll see a familiar face on the Marlins Park mound on Tuesday night for the second of three in Miami. Former White Sox left-hander Mark Buehrle, who signed with Miami this winter, will get the start for the Marlins against the reeling Red Sox. The veteran southpaw is no stranger to facing the Red Sox, making his 17th career...
