With a 4-2 come-from-behind win against the Washington Nationals, the Milwaukee Brewers are a mere 1.5 games out the second wild-card spot in the National League.

Football may have kicked off in 2012, but this Brewers team isn’t done from capturing the excitement and joy which goes along with potential baseball in October.

Here are some notes and nuggets on the Brewers truly historic run.
- Milwaukee is 24-6 over their last 30 games including 15 wins in September, more than they won in any other month during the regular season.

- On August 6th, the Brewers were a season-high 13 games out of the wild-card spot. 45 days later and they’re within a game-and-a-half.

- Ryan Braun was the hero in D.C. on Friday night, hitting an RBI single to tie the game and the go-ahead run in the ninth inning. How can you say a guy who is hitting .315 (5th in NL) with 40 home-runs (1st), 106 RBI (1st) and a WAR of 6.6 (3rd) is not the MVP.

- The Brewers have 12 games left; three more with the Nationals, three with the Cincinnati Reds, three with the Houston Astros and three with the San Diego Padres. Nationals and Reds are on the road while Astros and Padres are at home.

- Milwaukee’s pitching staff hasn’t been great, but they somehow lead the National League with a total of 1,286 strikeouts as a team, 16 punchouts ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies.
