LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run homer and drove in another run to help the Colorado Rockies defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 Sunday in the teams' last game before the All-Star break.
The clubs split their four-game series, leaving Colorado with a 46-50 record. The Dodgers fell back to .500 at 47-47.
Jhoulys Chacin (9-4) allowed one run and six hits in six innings, struck out six and walked three. The right-hander improved to 8-5 in his career against the Dodgers, his most wins against any one team.
Rafael Betancourt pitched the ninth to earn his 15th save in 16 chances.
Ricky Nolasco (6-9) gave up three runs and eight hits over five innings of his home debut with the Dodgers. The right-hander struck out four and walked three while pitching in front of a large contingent of family and friends from his nearby hometown of Rialto.
Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig wasn't in the starting lineup, but he entered as a pinch-hitter in the fifth. He singled and then scored on Adrian Gonzalez's single with two outs.
Cuddyer's 16th home run with two outs in the fifth extended Colorado's lead to 3-0.
DJ LeMahieu grounded out to start the inning before Carlos Gonzalez got hit by a pitch from Nolasco and Troy Tulowitzki popped up. Cuddyer homered into the right-field pavilion.
Cuddyer hit an RBI single with two outs in the first gave Colorado a 1-0 lead.

Carlos Gonzales: Rockies First Half Team MVP
Team: Colorado Rockies
Record: 46-50 (4.5 GB)
Biggest Surprise of First Half: The Colorado Rockies, despite being 4 games below .500 for the season, actually have been exceeding everyone’s expectations through the first half of the 2013 season. We all know that the Rockies have a good offense, but despite the amazing seasons being...
Michael Cuddyer, representing the National League in the 2013 Home Run Derby, jacked one straight into a beautiful New York City sunset.
With the Major League Baseball season more than half over, it's time to unveil my midseason Top 25 Dodgers' prospect list.
There are some new faces, some young faces (Julio Urias, right) and some players who have broken out. There are also some who have fallen from their preseason rank. There wasn't as much an infusion of talent as there was in last year's midseason...
Team: Los Angeles Dodgers
Record: 47-47 (2.5 GB)
Biggest Surprise of First Half: For the Dodgers it would have to be Juan Uribe. Uribe has had a terrible first 2 years in Dodger blue but seems to have found his stroke. His first half slash line looks like this, .271/.344/.415. He seems to be healthy and also seems to be seeing the ball well. He is in the walk year of the contract...
Matt Kemp is injured and on the disabled list yet again, as he’s suffering from irritation in the AC joint of his re-built left shoulder.
Matt Kemp’s lost season took another bad turn on Monday, as the Dodgers center fielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder AC joint inflammation. The move is retroactive to Saturday, one day after Kemp irritated the AC...
Yasiel Puig may not have been selected for the MLB All-Star Game, but he did manage to score an invitation to the Playboy Mansion on Monday night. The Los Angeles Dodgers rookie spent the first day of his All-Star break attending the 8th annual Bear Trap Entertainment (BTE) All-Star Celebrity Kickoff Party at the Playboy [...]
The Los Angeles Dodgers expect center fielder Matt Kemp to
return from the disabled list July 21, the first day he’s eligible to,
according to Austin Laymance of MLB.com.
Kemp hasn’t appeared in a game for the Dodgers since July 5
when he irritated the AC joint in his left shoulder. The injury occurred during
a swing in his first at-bat, and he ultimately exited the...
Zack Greinke retired his first 13 batters before finishing with a two-hitter for a win in his fifth straight start and leading the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Colorado Rockies 1-0 on Saturday.
The Dodgers won for the 14th time in 17 games, despite the absence of rookie outfielder Yasiel Puig, who missed his first game since his promotion on June 3 because of a sore left hip. He...
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been on some kind of roll over the past 20 games with a record of 16-4. The team is looking to get healthy and make a run into the postseason. Manager Don Mattingly answered questions about injuries and the team today before Photo Day at Dodgers Stadium.
“Just a little over a week ago we were talking about having four outfielders and now we only have...
The Colorado Rockies added right handed pitcher Armando Galarraga on Monday in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds.
Galarraga, 31, had been pitching for the Reds Triple-A team in Louisville. During his tenure with Louisville Galarraga had made 16 starts and compiled a 2.98 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP.
Last season Galarraga made five starts at the major league level with Houston going 0-4...
Through the first couple months of the season the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen was a mess. The group as a whole had an ERA of 4.65 which is obviously not helpful when you’re in a good deal of games that are close. It’s hard enough to keep a consistency to a bullpen as it is but when the team’s closer isn’t pitching well for an extended period of time it has a ripple effect...

Since Gonzalez is now free to sign with any team, it appears he already has teams interested. Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune reported today that the Cubs are concerned that the...
