The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed third basemen Ian Stewart to a minor league deal. Stewart, a first round pick by Colorado in 2003, was just released by the Chicago Cubs last week after he was suspended for negative comments about his status with the team. Stewart, 28, saw no time in the majors this season was hitting only .168/.286/.372 at Triple A Iowa. Over Stewarts last two seasons in the majors he hit just .183/.272/.289 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 103 games for the Rockies and Cubs.
