The Los Angeles Dodgers are playing their best baseball of the season, having won seven consecutive games and 14 of 16 since April 21. After a perfect homestand, they now begin a six-game road trip, with their first stop at Petco Park for a three-game series against the San Diego Padres.

The Dodgers enter play with a 26-13 record, which is good for first place in the National League West. The Padres, at 20-20, trail them by 6.5 games in the standings.

The Dodgers are 2-3 against the Padres this season, having previously split the two-game Seoul Series and dropping two of three to them at Dodger Stadium last month.

Tyler Glasnow makes his ninth start of the season and looks for continued success. He allowed just two runs on five hits and collected 10 strikeouts in his last outing against the Atlanta Braves.

The Dodgers cruised to an 11-2 win, which was more than enough run support for Glasnow. They are 7-1 in games started by the right-hander this season, scoring at least four runs in each matchup.

Glasnow is 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA, 2.46 FIP, 0.92 WHIP and 11.3 strikeouts per nine in 50 innings pitched this year. He held the Padres to two runs on Opening Day in South Korea and owns a 2.70 ERA in four career appearances (one start) against them.

San Diego counters with Michael King, who hopes to build on one of his best outings of the season against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He gave up six hits and collected three strikeouts in six scoreless innings.

King is 3-3 with a 4.29 ERA, 5.71 FIP, 1.41 WHIP and 9.2 strikeouts per nine in 42 innings over eight games (seven starts) this year. He has struggled against the Dodgers in 2024, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits in 8.1 innings of work across two games.
