Willis has been the victim of tough luck in his 9 starts. Reds left-hander Dontrelle Willis has cleared waivers according to a tweet sent out earlier today by FOXSports.com's Jon Morosi. Willis is now eligible to be traded to any team should Cincinnati find a willing suitor. The 29-year old is set to become a free agent in the offseason after signing a one-year, minor-league deal with the Reds prior to 2011. Although he has yet to win a game for Cincy in nine appearances (0-3), he has recorded a quality start in six of his last seven outings. The upbeat and excuberant Willis has also shown prowess at the plate as evidenced by his .429 (10-21) average, one homerun, and two sacrifice bunts. Should he continue to pitch the way he has for the last month of the season, he could garner interest from several MLB team during the offseason free-agency period -- including the Reds.
