During Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday, Doug Fister of the Tigers got hit in the head with a line drive by Gregor Blanco in the second inning. Fister didn't exit the game after getting hit, and would then walk Brandon Crawford before forcing Madison Bumgarner to pop out to end the second inning. Tigers doctors didn't look over Fister for very long, and he ended up throwing six innings in the game, allowing one run on four hits. Just one of those hits came after he was hit, and he set down 13 in a row before a Hunter Pence single to lead off the seventh inning.

The Tigers right-hander took the tough-luck loss as the San Francisco Giants shut out Detroit 2-0 on Thursday night in Game 2 of the World Series. He also left AT&T Park with a small lump on his head that was caused by more than the Giants taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Fister was struck on the...

10) In case you were wondering about that team of destiny feeling, watch the Gregor Blanco bunt in the seventh a few times9) Doug Fister took a ball off the head, kept the Giants scoreless until the seventh, had his bullpen and defense give up the inherited runner and more or less has a clear lawsuit available for non-support... which just goes to show that...
The big mystery in Thursday night’s Game 2 of the World Series is what the Giants might get from the struggling Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner posted strong overall numbers this year, but he seemed to wear down. Now the Giants say they’ve worked on a mechanical tweak and he should be more effective. It’s certainly intriguing, although one recalls that the Tigers said they worked...
So…Probably no NHL then, right?

I tried to tell you guys this morning that great things besides baseball happen year after year at the World Series. This morning it was a chick putting Pablo Sandoval’s 3rd home run ball down her pants before being arrested.
Now comes this Fox guy, Paul Robins, taking a bird deuce to the side of the head and on his coat. It wasn’t exactly a Doug Fister shot to the head, but...
The Giants beat the Tigers 2-0 in the World Series last night, taking a 2-0 series lead. While that's not necessarily an insurmountable lead, some Tigers fans are panicking with Ryan Vogelsong starting game three and Matt Cain starting game four for the Giants.
