There are pitching terms that baseball people use that to describe what pitchers need to be successful at the Major League level.  The more of each you have, the better off you’ll be.  Those qualities are velocity, command and movement on the baseball.  Velocity is just that – how much oomph you can put on the ball.  Command is your ability to pin-point your pitches in the exact location you’re aiming for.  Movement is important because Major Leaguer can hit a dead-red fastball.  The more late movement a pitcher has, the tougher his pitchers are to hit.

Doug Fister dominated the three qualities for nine straight Kansas City Royals Thursday afternoon.  Setting an American League record, Fister fanned nine consecutive hitters.  He got Salvador Perez to whiff to end the fourth, then proceed to strike out Mike Moustakas, Jeff Francoeur and Brayan Pena in the fifth, Johnny Giavotella, David Lough and Alcides Escobar in the sixth and Alex Gordon and Billy Butler in the seventh before Perez grounded out on a 1-2 pitch to end the inning.

Here is a GIF made by @WorldofIsaac of Guyism of the out-pitch of Fister’s nine K’s.  Apparently Isaac doesn’t understand that size matters…
