MINNEAPOLIS The Minnesota Twins took note of longtime nemesis Paul Konerko's return to the White Sox lineup for Wednesday's series finale. They probably should have been more concerned with the guy batting ahead of him. Chicago first baseman Adam Dunn he of the .137 batting average continued to torment the Twins, blasting two homers and driving in five runs as the White Sox took the rubber match Wednesday by a 9-4 final at Target Field. Dunn's two-home run performance came one game after he hit a solo homer in Tuesday's 4-2 Chicago victory. "He had a nice day," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said of Dunn. "He's a strong young man, and when you throw the ball up there he's going to get you." Twins starter Mike Pelfrey was the first victim to leave a pitch up to Dunn. Pelfrey hung a 3-2 changeup to Dunn, and the Chicago first baseman drove it over the wall in center field for his eighth homer of the season and second in as many days. ...

Umpires badly blow two calls in Twins-White Sox game

The umpiring crew for the Minnesota Twins-Chicago White Sox game on Tuesday night badly blew a pair of calls in Chicago’s 4-2 win at Target Field. The first blown call occurred with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. Justin Morneau was on second when Oswaldo Arcia singled to right field. Morneau tried to score on the play, but Alex Rios’ throw clearly beat him. Morneau tried...

Minnesota Twins Have Dynamic Duo In Byron Buxton And Adam Walker

The Minnesota Twins have a pair of outfield prospects setting the Midwest League on fire over the first 35 games of the season. The likes of 19-year old Byron Buxton and 21-year old Adam Walker have paced the Twins Single A affiliate Cedar Rapids Kernels to a first place 24-11 record. Buxton and Walker form arguably the best 1-2 punch in all of the Midwest League making Twins fans...

Twins' four switch hitters give lineup rare flexibility

MINNEAPOLIS If Ron Gardenhire had his choice, he would have been a switch hitter during his career as what he refers to as a "futility infielder." Instead, Gardenhire batted only right-handed during his five seasons with the New York Mets. His career batting average? Just .232 in 285 games. Against right-handers, he was a career .205 hitter. "I just know from when...

Twins look to take second series against White Sox

If the Chicago White Sox are to move out of last place in the AL Central, they'll need to string together some victories. The visiting White Sox can start by winning two straight for the first time in almost two weeks Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. Adam Dunn and Dayan Viciedo hit back-to-back homers in the second inning and Tyler Flowers delivered a tiebreaking double...

Twins Tuesday: Hicks earns praise from all over for catch

MINNEAPOLIS Aaron Hicks was all over the highlight reels on Monday night, and for good reason. The Twins rookie hit two home runs and also made a leaping catch to rob an Adam Dunn homer. Following Monday's 10-3 win over the visiting White Sox, Hicks' phone was busy. He said he received around 80 text messages and around 15 voicemails from friends and family wanting to chat...

Aaron Hicks hit two home runs, robbed a third in same game (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Aaron Hicks pulled a Mike Trout on Monday night. The Minnesota Twins rookie has had a rough start to his career, but he busted out in a big way against the Chicago White Sox. Hicks clubbed a solo home run in the fourth, robbed a potential tying 2-run home run in the top of the sixth, and hit a solo home run in the bottom of the inning to help...
CATCH OF THE YEAR

Aaron Hicks robs Adam Dunn of HR

Aaron Hicks of the Minnesota Twins made a homerun robbing catch today that might go down as one of the best of the year. Adam Dunn of the Chicago White Sox hit an absolute bomb to straight away center. Hicks took off towards the track and made a huge leap against the wall, robbing Dunn of what would have been about a 415 foot homer. Your browser does not support iframes.

Correia looks to get it going against White Sox

Rookie Aaron Hicks may own one of the lowest batting averages in the majors, but he's finding success against the Chicago White Sox. That's fairly common for Joe Mauer. Hicks will try to build on his best performance in the majors, while Mauer looks to extend his hitting streak to 13 games as the Twins host the White Sox on Tuesday night. Hicks, a first-round pick by Minnesota...

If you love the Indians AND the Twins, this is the perfect hat for you (Photo)

Of course, this applies to virtually nobody, which means whoever came up with a price of $14.97 for this clearly defective Indians/Twins mashup baseball cap is out of their minds. (We can not confirm or deny the comments by the Reddit poster that this hat was found at Wal-Mart). Photo via Reddit. H/T Extra Mustard. Red Sox Hope to Retake Momentum From Twins in Weekend Series at Target Field

When the Minnesota Twins visited Fenway Park for the lone time this season for a four-game set starting May 6, the Red Sox were 20-11 and led the American League East by 1 1/2 games despite having just been swept three games in Texas. The Sox beat the Twins 6-5 in 11 innings in the opener, but Minnesota took the final three games and things have gone downhill ever since for Boston...

White Sox 5, Angels 4

Jeff Keppinger walked with the bases loaded to drive in the go-ahead run - his first base on balls in 141 plate appearances this season - and the Chicago White Sox rallied with three runs in the eighth to beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-4 on Thursday night for their season-high third straight road win. The Angels' bullpen wasted a two-run lead as the club lost its second straight...

Series Preview 14: White Sox at Angels

The White Sox, fresh off their series win in Minnesota, head to the west coast for a date with the Angels in LA LA Land.  The Sox dropped two of three to the Halos last weekend in Chicago and will look for a different outcome this time around. May 14: White Sox 4, Twins 2

The White Sox were able to come away with a well-earned win on Tuesday night, preventing the start of another losing streak and getting the series with the Twins even at one game apiece. It was a game where we saw the Sox respond, as our Southsiders tallied two in the eighth after the Twins tied the game at 2-2 an inning earlier. Let’s take a look at what happened ......
