Before suiting up against the Padres on Tuesday, Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia took a little detour. Pedroia stopped by Dana-Farber’s David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic, where he spent time hanging out, signing autographs and playing some Wii with a number of young Jimmy Fund patients. “You have a responsibility to come here. All of our guys do,” Pedroia said. “All of us have a part in coming here and trying to see the kids and helping out any way we can.” Check out more from Pedroia’s visit in the video above.

Your Morning Dump...where Gomes is more than a clubhouse guy

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Jonny Gomes gets a lot of praise for being a "good clubhouse guy." But after Wednesday night's pinch-hit walk-off home run at Fenway Park in a 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres, Gomes should probably...

Jonny Gomes: Walk this way

The Guru Contributing Writer Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley has his own form of baseball vernacular. Words like "high cheese", "electric gas", "hair" and "iron" all seem to make their way into an Eck conversation. But it was in 1993 that Eckersley coined a phrase that is universally used across baseball now: the walk-off. Does it seem like...
