Last year, injuries and a lack of experience left the White Sox with a somewhat inconsistent, yet mostly effective starting pitching staff. Led by the breakout season of Chris Sale and the reemergence of veteran Jake Peavy, the unit did a solid job as a whole against the tough American League. Here are our predictions for how each of the team's starters will fare in 2013 (plus collaborative mock headlines) ... Chris Sale  Zach: 15-9; 3.09 ERA; 201 K's; 1.09 WHIP Luke: 13-8; 3.50 ERA; 180 K's; 1.15 WHIP Matt: 18-8; 3.32 ERA; 200 K's; 1.14 WHIP Reva: 20-6; 2.25 ERA; 215 K's; 1.10 WHIP GSB!: 17-8; 3.04 ERA; 199 K's; 1.12 WHIP Mock Headline: "Chris Sale overcomes mechanical questions and continues providing hope for White Sox fans that he'll be a team leader for years to come. Like in 2012, this season will see its fair share of highlight-worthy starts against some of the American League's best from Sale" Jake Peavy  Zach: 16-12; 3.77 ERA; 189 K's, 1.21 WHIP Luke: 13-10; 3.81 ERA; 189 K's; 1.19 WHIP Matt: 14-10; 3.50 ERA; 200 K's; 1.13 WHIP Reva: 14-9; 3.75 ERA; 194 K's; 1.25 WHIP GSB!: 14-10; 3.71 ERA; 193 K's; 1.20 WHIP Mock Headline: "Peavy will continue to be the work horse that he was in 2012, and the offense will finally give him the run support he deserves" John Danks  Zach: 8-10; 4.22 ERA; 137 K's; 1.31 WHIP Luke: 10-5; 3.70 ERA; 120 K's; 1.25 WHIP Matt: 13-11; 3.85 ERA; 160 K's; 1.30 WHIP Reva: 9-10; 4.10 ERA; 97 K's; 1.38 WHIP GSB!: 10-9; 3.97 ERA; 129 K's; 1.31 WHIP Mock Headline: "Coming back from surgery and rehab, Danks will get off to a slow start but eventually regain the consistent Buehrle-like form Sox fans have grown to love him for" Gavin Floyd  Zach: 12-11; 4.11 ERA; 180 K's; 1.32 WHIP Luke: 11-12; 4.30 ERA; 150 K's; 1.35 WHIP Matt: 13-13; 4.30 ERA; 155 K's; 1.34 WHIP Reva: 14-13; 4.45 ERA; 175 K's; 1.33 WHIP GSB!: 13-12; 4.29 ERA; 165 K's; 1.34 WHIP Mock Headline: "This season will be more of the same for Floyd: Plenty of ups, plenty of downs - but all in all, he'll be a solid middle-of-the-rotation guy who can dominate on any given night" Jose Quintana  Zach: 10-10; 4.39 ERA; 101 K's; 1.39 WHIP Luke: 8-10; 4.50 ERA; 90 K's; 1.50 WHIP Matt: 8-10; 4.13 ERA; 125 K's; 1.38 WHIP Reva: 12-8; 3.38 ERA; 124 K's; 1.57 WHIP GSB!: 10-10; 4.10 ERA; 110 K's; 1.46 WHIP Mock Headline: "Although there will be sophomore slumps for "Q," Jose will be continue to learn and grow as a big league starter, inspiring more hope for his future" Hector Santiago  Zach: 8-5; 3.45 ERA; 83 K's; 1.29 WHIP Luke: 7-2; 2.95 ERA; 92 K's, 1.25 WHIP GSB! "Screwgie" will have his spot in the White Sox' future plans secured by season's end"
