Can you believe the Kansas City Royals have become a team tired of waiting? Well today the Royals requested unconditional release waivers on Kyle Davies. Davies was the first player that general manager Dayton Moore acquired in 2007 in hopes that he’d become a solid starting pitcher. Well that never happened and with him now at 27 and some big time prospects waiting in the wings it was time to go. “With our current roster issues,” general manager Dayton Moore said, “we had to do something. He probably not going to pitch for the rest of the year, and we didn’t want to take anybody else off the roster at this point.” (Bob Dutton – Kansas City Star) The roster move Moore talks about was the promotion of catching prospect Salvador Perez. I give the Royals credit for trying to turn the career of Davies around but this move has been a long time coming. For his career, Kyle is 43-65 over 144 starts with a 5.59 ERA.
