Ok, I have had it, I went to the DBacks game tonight, hoping to see them win their first game under their new manager. A move I totally disagree with but will give it an open mind for now(Kirk Gibson should have gotten the job). The DBacks actually should have gone a bit further and sent a message to the rest of the team by releasing Eric Byrnes and designating him for asssignment. This overpaid jerk can't hit his way out of a paper bag, and he had a golden opportunity to help his team win in the bottom of the ninth tonight. Instead he hit an anemic ground ball to short which resulted in a force play. I am so sick of ******* loser players getting paid way too much for what they deliver in return. The DBacks gave this creep a three year $30 million contract and he has done NOTHING for this team since then. He is more busy with his damn TV show and book deal, and since when do players have their own TV show anyway? They should bring up some hungry AAA player to play leftfield, they could do no worse then they are with Eric "What A Loser I Am" Byrnes in left. It's about time these prima donnas earn the ridiculous salaries they get paid. And it's about time teams are able to write performance clauses into these contracts so they do not have to pay for poor play in return. So what do you baseball fans think and DBacks fans in particular.
I am a Colorado Rockies fan, and we had him for a short stint before we dumped him in Arizona (sorry). He hit only like .190, and didn't do **** for us. When he started playing well for Arizona, I was like, sonofabitch. And then in the 2007 NLCS he started to get cocky and said that Arizona was the better team, even though the Rockies were up in the series 2-0 at that point. Thats when Rox fans truely started hating him... the next season whenever he came to play at COors field, he would NEVER toss balls out to the crowd. If a ball was hit down the third baseline in foul territory, he would grab it, and chuck it all the way back to the D'backs dugout, instead of simply handing it off to the 6-year old fan standing 15 feet away. Then Byrnes started sucking, like the good ole' Byrnes we saw in Colorado and in Oakland. Is it really a wonder why he is traded so often? D'backs got screwed over when they signed him to the big deal; he is hardly worth 1 million a year yet alone 10. Sorry D'back fans, I feel for ya
