Found July 28, 2013 on My Sports Rumors:
The Houston Astros have a record of 35-68 but yet their players are drawing a lot of interest from contending teams. We’ve talked about Bud Norris and Jose Veras but now words come out that Erik Bedard is also drawing interest. Bedard has had a relatively nice season and could solidify the back end of a contenders rotation. Sources tell me Astros LHP Erik Bedard's recent strong outings, plus season performance has lead to interest from teams as deadline nears. — Leila Rahimi (@leilarahimiCSN) July 28, 2013 Bedard has an ERA of 4.28 and a record of 3-8 but has struck out just under one batter per inning. If you take the month of April out of the picture and his numbers look a lot better as he had two horrendous starts. Since the month of May started he’s got an ERA of 3.67 which is pretty solid for an American League pitcher. I’m sure it wouldn’t cose much to get Bedard, probably just a mid-level prospect. The post Erik Bedard drawing trade interest appeared first on My Sports Rumors.

Tigers Acquire Jose Veras

Jose Veras has been acquired from the Houston Astros for outfield prospect Danny Vasquez and journeyman PTBNL. I don’t know much about him, but it seems like a no risk move. I don’t expect him to close, though I do think it’s reasonable to believe that he’ll be the setup guy. I’m afraid this means that Octavio Dotel is done for the year. I think the Tigers are done. I think...
