MINNEAPOLIS The Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame has two new members. Former Twins closer Eddie Guardado and former Director of Public Relations Tom Mee will become the 25th and 26th members of the Twins' Hall of Fame. The duo will be inducted during a pregame ceremony on June 14 at Target Field. Guardado, better known as "Everyday Eddie," spent 17 seasons in the majors, including 12 with Minnesota. He made his major league debut in 1993 with the Twins and went on to appear in 648 games in a Twins uniform. He finished his Minnesota career with 116 saves and a 4.53 ERA. Guardado's best season with the Twins came in 2002, when he saved a league-high 45 games and posted an ERA of 2.93 as he helped Minnesota win the American League Central. Guardado also earned his second All-Star selection that year. After pitching for three different teams from 2004-08, the left-handed Guardado returned to Minnesota for the 2008 season. His return was short-lived, however, as he pitched in just nine games (seven innings). He pitched in 48 games for Texas in 2009 and then retired. Mee spent several decades working for the Twins, and served as the Director of Media Relations for 30 years. Mee, a St. Paul native, retired in 1991. He was elected to the Twins Hall of Fame through an 18-voter Veterans Committee ballot. Follow Tyler Mason on Twitter.
