Police say former Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes has been arrested on a warrant related to previous drug charges.
Tampa police say the 28-year-old Dukes was arrested Monday night. He's also been charged with an additional count of driving with a suspended license.
Records show Dukes had failed to appear in court for charges related to a February 2012 arrest.
That's when police say they pulled over Dukes during a routine traffic stop and caught him trying to eat marijuana out of bag. He was charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dukes was in jail Tuesday with no bail set. Jail records didn't list an attorney.

Rays Rumors: Tampa Bay Eyeing DH Candidates
The Tampa Bay Rays could continue to be in the market for
another bat, and they are expected to target either a designated hitter or
outfielder, according to Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times.
The DH spot is wide open, and a free agent seems likely,
though the money, of course, will be a factor as the payroll is already in the
$55 million range (plus incentives) and thus...
How patient will Rays be on Wil Myers?
The recent acquisition of Shelley Duncan gives the Rays a bit more reliability in their left-field platoon paired with Sam Fuld. Duncan is a known quantity with a career .755 OPS against left-handed starters. Duncan can also provide the same flexibility with lefty-swinging James Loney at first base. Duncan blunts a bit of the question mark of if Brandon Guyer will ever hit major...
Q&A: Richie Shaffer, Rays Power Prospect
Richie Shaffer won’t be displacing Evan Longoria any time soon. That doesn’t mean the 21-year-old Tampa Bay Rays third base prospect doesn’t have a promising future. Drafted 25th overall last year out of Clemson, Shaffer projects to bash his way to Tropicana Field.
Shaffer talked about his game when the short-season Hudson Valley Renegades visited Boston to play in the Futures...

Rays add Oviedo, Wright, Duncan & Sandoval
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The Tampa Bay Rays have added their second pitcher with a new name.

Last month the Rays agreed to a 3.25 million, one-year deal...
