The Yankees may be forced to make lineup changes for today's deciding game five against the Orioles in the elimination game.
They may take Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson out of the starting lineup and replace with Eric Chavez and Raul Ibanez.
A-Rod and Granderson have been terrible in this entire series going 3 for 30 combined versus Orioles pitching.
That's why may no choice but to put Ibanez/Chavez in the lineup. The Bronx Bombers have been in these type of games before and I always see them lose these games since 2005 where they lost the ALDS rounds including 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2011.
History isn't on the Yankees side entering today's game and it could go either way. I wouldn't be shocked if the Orioles win, but I expect the Yankees to come away with the victory.
The pitching matchup will be CC Sabathia vs Jason Hammel.
The game starts at 5:07 pm on TBS.

A day after Alex Rodriguez was pinch hit for in favor of Raul Ibanez, another A Rod suffered a similar fate at Belmont.
COMING UP CLUTCH
Raul Ibanez clubbed two home runs to beat the Orioles in Game 3. He hit both of them late in the game after entering as a pinch-hitter.
The Yankees and the ALDS have an eerie relationship. It serves as either a small stepping-stone towards alarger pedestal or a heartbreaking roadblock of a larger goal. The Yankees aren’t like your favorite baseball team. The Baltimore Orioles have already had a successful season, anything in addition to making the ALDS is icing on a historic cake. They are playing with house money...

Raul Ibanez became a postseason legend on Wednesday night by homering twice for the Yankees in a Game 3 ALDS win over the Orioles at Yankee Stadium.
Ibanez pinch-hit for DH Alex Rodriguez in the ninth inning and hit a solo home run to tie the game at two and send it to extra innings. Despite being pinch-hit for, A-Rod was leading the way cheering...
Just seconds before Raul Ibanez continued his late inning heroics to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning of the ALCS, ESPN decided to jump the gun and post on their television network “Tigers take Game 1.” However, they weren’t the only national platform to post the Tigers winning even though the game wasn’t official yet. The Tampa Times also got the itch to break...

After being pinch hit for in Games 3 and 4 against the Baltimore Orioles, the $275 million third baseman was removed from the starting lineup for Game 5 on Friday.

NEW YORK -- The manager known for robotically following his "binder" full of stats took one of the biggest gambles in postseason history because, he would say later, it was a "gut feeling." That gut feeling, as well as the guts to follow through on it by New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi, helped his team pull off a wild 3-2, 12-inning victory over the Baltimore...

Down by a run in an all-even AL division series, Joe Girardi approached Alex Rodriguez and told baseball's highest-paid player he was going to pinch hit for him.
Bold move, benching one of the game's great sluggers.
''I just had a gut feeling,'' the Yankees manager said. ''I just went to him and I said, `You're scuffling a little bit right now...

I have to say that one thing I envy about other teams in baseball is that their fan bases haven't got as cynical and as demanding as ours. For all the patting on the back that we do about the pinstripes, and the tradition, I just don't get the way too many people in our fan base boo our own team's players not for not trying -- they are all trying -- but for not succeeding...
His production shriveled, his aura dissipated, his place in history unsettled and his ego almost certainly bruised, Alex Rodriguez took a seat following the Snub Seen `Round the World and became a spectator, little different than the 50,000 other fans at Yankee Stadium.
At age 37, he has become perhaps the biggest hole in the New York Yankees' batting order this October, a close...
The father of New York Yankees manger Joe Girardi has died, the team announced Thursday. Jerry Girardi passed away Saturday at a residential health-care facility in Metamora, Ill. Girardi, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, was 81. The Yankees will observe a moment of silence in Girardi's memory before Game 4 of the American League Division Series with Baltimore on...
