Found May 01, 2012 on The Fantasy Fix:
Ryan Braun hit a remarkable three home runs in last nights 8-3 win for the Brewers over the Padres.  Braun also knocked in six runs as he went 4-for-5 on the night, look like he's ready to start hitting again.Apparently 2012 is the year of the old man resurgence because David Ortiz has joined Derek Jeter in the early season .400 club.  Ortiz went 2-for-3 and hit two home runs to hit a total of 6 on the season but more importantly he's now hitting .405.Is it even necessary to mention the nightly Matt Kemp home run anymore?  Kemp homered in a Dodgers loss to the Rockies for number 12 on the year with his 25th RBI.Yu Darvish pitched a gem against the other team that was in on the bidding for his rights this winter; the Blue Jays.  Darvish went 7.0 innings and gave up just one earned run with nine k's.  But most importantly he only gave up a combined six walks/hits, his whip had been the only thing lacking behind the rest of his stats to date.In his first career start 23 ye...

We Love Ryan Braun

Heading into last night's game Ryan Braun was hitting .263/.322/.500 with four homeruns and three steals. Not exactly MVP numbers, but if your entire team is hitting like that you are probably leading the league in offense. He's been good, but he hasn't been great which is to say he hasn't been Ryan Braun. Much like the Brewers record he has been merely okay. Last...

A Topps Opening Day Autograph Is One Of My Rarer Matt Kemp Cards.

Ah, Opening Day, that most glorious of baseball days and most inconsequential of baseball sets. I'm not a big set collector, and I enjoy pulling hits of all kinds, so I have less than zero interest in ever buying the product for myself. However, for less than the price of a blaster (and purchased with Card Draft funds, no less), I couldn't possibly let the below beauty go...

Ryan Braun’s Three Homer Game, In Perspective

It was just another Monday night in San Diego. The Milwaukee Brewers were in town for the first game of a three-games series against the Padres. Lefty Randy Wolf was on the mound for the Brewers, facing young righty Joe Wieland for San Diego. It was the fourth big-league start for Wieland, still looking for his first win. He’d been rocked by the Los Angeles Dodgers in his major...

Dodgers' Kemp, Ethier can't do it on their own

While Matt Kemp's April explosion sparked Triple Crown conversations, he and the rest of the Los Angeles Dodgers are dealing more in reality than dreams. They have enjoyed a best-in-the-National League beginning to 2012, but have not lost sight of the six-month challenge of a baseball season. Reality check: With a 17-7 start, the Dodgers' magic number to clinch the NL West...

Inside The Park Blog: On Total Bases and an Obscure Character of Lore by Bradford Doolittle

As you've no doubt seen by now, the Brewers' Ryan Braun had three homers and a triple last night at Petco Park, piling up 15 total bases in the game. His triple was a gapper to right-center that wasn't especially close to going out of the park. In his first at-bat, he flew out to medium center field on a well-struck ball. It was a career night for the reigning MVP....

Statistical Craziness

*Matt Kemp of the Dodgers has scored 27 runs this season and knocked in 25, making him accountable for 52 runs of production in just 25 games.  The lowly Pittsburgh Pirates have scored only 68 runs as entire team in 24 games.  Kemp is that awesome and the Buccos offense is that bad.*Kemp also has 12 homeruns, while the Chicago Cubs as a team have a mere 11.  Kemp powerful, Cubbies...

Kemp, Hamilton named Player of the Month

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp has been unanimously voted the Budweiser Presents National League Player of the Month for April, while Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers was selected as the AL recipient. Through 23 April contests, Kemp led the Majors with a .417 (35-for-84) batting average and 12 home runs while ranking tops in the National League in RBI (25), hits...

Even without Hamilton, Texas still best in show

TORONTO Statistically speaking, Josh Hamilton is Matt Kemp. Entering Monday, here were Hamilton's Triple Crown numbers and rank in the American League: .395 average (second), nine home runs (first) and 25 RBI (first). And Kemp in the National League: .425 (first), 11 home runs (first) and 24 RBI (tied for first). Hamilton's Rangers were 16-6, best record in the league...

FANTASY BASEBALL-Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

As we enter week 5 in fantasy baseball, we turn the calendar on April and go in to month two of the long baseball season.  We’ve watched some amazing things happen so far like Matt Kemp hitting 12 HR, collecting 25 RBI, and batting .417, while the $250 million man, Albert Pujols, has driven in 4 runs, has no HR and is batting 200 points less than Kemp at .217...

Rockies 6, Dodgers 2

Juan Nicasio pitched six solid innings, Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run double and the Colorado Rockies overcame Matt Kemp's latest homer, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 Monday night in the first of 18 meetings this season between the NL West rivals. Continuing his remarkable comeback from a broken neck suffered last August when he was hit in the head by a line drive against...
