After winning the NL West in 2011, one would think the Arizona Diamondback would have a lot of quality players on their team. And they would be right. But how many of them are potential keepers? Let’s take a look: SP Ian Kennedy broke out in a big way last season, leading the NL with 21 wins to go along with a 2.88 ERA and 198 K’s. His numbers are projected to regress a little in 2012, but he still should be a quality pitcher on any fantasy staff. However, he consistently lasts longer in drafts than he should. His ADP is 70.57. He is ranked: CBS #35; Yahoo! #52; ESPN #72. SP Daniel Hudson also had a strong season in 2011, with 16 wins, a 3.49 ERA and 169 K’s in 222 IP. More of the same is expected in 2012, but like Kennedy, he is undervalued in fantasy leagues. His ADP is 84.70. He is ranked: Yahoo! #56; CBS #63; ESPN #85. C Miguel Montero hit .282/.351/.469 in 2011 with 18 homers, a pretty good line for most players and even better considering he’s a catcher. He should continue hi...

Kubel planning to be 'old self' with D-backs

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Jason Kubel will face adjustments to a new home park, new opposing pitchers and somewhat of a new game in the National League. It probably seems like a paper cut. A serious injury and forced swing changes can turn about anything else mundane. Freed from Target Field and a long way past his career-interrupting knee injury, Kubel is comfortable and confident...

D-backs' Bauer struggles, Corbin impresses

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. Trevor Bauer was unable to do quite his full pregame routine his long-toss warmup did not extend from foul pole to foul pole, for one thing and he had his roughest outing of the spring Wednesday. Bauer gave up six hits and two runs to the San Francisco Giants in three innings, one fewer than the D-backs had hoped to see. He struck out two and did not walk a...

A surprise no more, Arizona looks to contend again

A year ago, the Arizona Diamondbacks were baseball's surprise team, going from worst to first to win the NL West. This year, the surprise will be if they aren't contenders again. A strong young rotation, vastly improved bullpen and a gritty style that led to a major league-best 48 come-from-behind wins propelled the Diamondbacks to the division title and a near-miss in...

The Washington Nationals showed interest in Arizona Diamondbacks OF Gerardo Parra earlier this spring, but nothing seemed to happen immediately afterwards.  That interest seems to have been reignited for the Nats front office over the last two days, as a total of six Nationals scouts have watched DBacks games where Parra has played, according to Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com...
