The Miami Marlins lost their third consecutive game on Friday as the Philadelphia Phillies came away 4-1 winners.   The loss was the fourth in five games vs Philadelphia on the year and moved Miami to 8-22 on the year.  Also getting worse was their road record which is now at 3-11.  At the current pace, Miami will come close to challenging the 1962 New York Mets for worst record in MLB history. Ricky Nolasco started the game and allowed four runs on eight hits in his six innings of work.   The Marlins’ ace was tagged with his third loss of the year to fall to 2-3 but was better than the box score may say.   Three of the runs came on solo home runs where Nolasco made mistakes or hung off-speed pitches.  For many of his pitches, he was in command as shown but his four strikeouts and one walk.   Ryan Webb worked the final two innings of the game for Miami an contributed those innings in scoreless fashion. Marcell Ozuna had a big day picking up two hits including his second double of the series.  The single was a liner off the left field fall that would’ve been a double if not for the power of the young slugger.  Donovan Solano hit his first home run of the year to give Miami it’s lone run of the game.  Once again, the story was runners in scoring position as Miami was 0-9 in such situations in this game. The Marlins will try once again to get a win on Saturday with Jose Fernandez scheduled to start.
