Mark Buehrle was roughed up in Fenway Park on Tuesday as the Miami Marlins fell 7-5 to the Boston Red Sox.   The loss moved the Marlins under the .500 mark for the first time since May.   The loss also put Miami at 4-11 in June as they continue to slide back for the second consecutive June.    With the Philadelphia Phillies winning, the Marlins are now only two games ahead of last place in the National League East.

Buehrle had one of his worst outings as a Marlin allowing six runs on seven hits in only five innings of work.   The Red Sox scored four of those runs in the first two innings thanks to a pair of two run home runs.    In all, the veteran allowed three longballs and had trouble fooling the Boston lineup.   Chad Gaudin worked the sixth inning and allowed a run on two hits.   Ryan Webb and Edward Mujica then chimed in with a scoreless inning each.

Logan Morrison had a career day bringing in all five of the Marlins’ runs.  To get it started, Morrison hit a two run blast in the first inning.  It was the eleventh home run of the year for the Marlins’ left fielder.   Morrison would go on to double twice as well giving him eleven two baggers on the year.    Scott Cousins also doubled, his second of the season.

The Marlins will look to even the series up on Wednesday when they are scheduled to send Ricky Nolasco to the mound to take on Felix Doubront.
