When Rick Porcello came up in 2009, he took the Detroit Tigers and everyone by suprise. Pitching in the big leagues before he was 21 Porcello was so good he earned himself a start in the biggest game of the year, which was game 163. In his first season he would pitch himself to a respectable 14-9 record with a 3.96 ERA, and would finish third in the Rookie of the year voting. Over the past two seasons Porcello hasn’t even been close to what he was in 2009. He shows glimpes of what he could be if he could stay consistent. Over the past two years Porcello holds a 22-20 record with an ERA dangerously close to touching five. It seems like Rick has gone away doing the things that gave him success so early in his career.
