Johnny Damon robs Prince Fielder of HR

With a sub-mendoza line batting average and a .528 OPS in 100 at bats this season, Johnny Damon has not provided much help to the Cleveland Indians. Although he has struggled producing runs at the plate, he did an excellent job saving a run with his glove by robbing Prince Fielder of a home run in the second inning of Wednesday’s game against the Tigers. Fielder hit an opposite...

De-Lucker! or Josh Hamilton is Under-Performing

DATA! Let us delve once again into the numbers. The season is now two months aged and we have more stories unfolding than we have enough digital ink to cover: Will the Red Sox ever find an outfielder? Is Adam Jones the new Matt Kemp? Can the White Sox really make a playoff push in a rebuilding year? And will the 2012 Pirates really go down as one of the worst offenses in modern...

Video: Johnny Damon Robs Prince Fielder of Home Run

In his return from paternity leave, Cleveland Indians outfielder Johnny Damon climbed the latter in Comerca Park to rob the highly-paid Prince Fielder of a home run early in Wednesday night’s win. Providing an interesting juxtaposition, Tribe first baseman Casey Kotchman would later put a ball off of the Belle Tire sign above the bullpen in right field, helping the team take...

Wezen-Ball: A Different Lineup Everyday by Larry Granillo

It was mentioned more than once during Wednesday's Cubs/Brewers broadcast on Fox Sports Wisconsin that the Brewers were using a different lineup for the 20th game in a row. With such high preseason expectations this year, even with the loss of Prince Fielder, Milwaukee has been struggling a bit recently. In the last month, the club has lost three of its starters for the season...

Handicapping the AL MVP Race

As we move on through our awards series we come to the third way mark for the MVP awards. We notice a bit more separation with position players than with the pitchers. So, we will limit our scope to ten players instead of the fifteen we had with the pitchers. Naturally, we use the same wins above replacement we used with the pitchers, but we add in the percentage numbers...

Game 2012.55: Indians at Tigers

25-29, 3rd place, 6 games back. Well, here we sit, 1/3 of the way through the season, and in third place. The season has been a great disappointment for just about everyone so far, save maybe Quentin Berry. If you’re projecting stats over the final 2/3 of the season, Cabby would end up with 33 HR and 132 RBIs (sounds about right), Fielder with 27 HR and 105 RBIs (a little low...
