Thanks to our friend Michael Jong at the Marlin Maniac blog for bringing a couple of lists to our attention. Among some bloggers, the 2003 World Series-winning Marlins aren’t held in high esteem. That club recently appeared on two lists of the worst World Series champions  in history. One was on Yahoo! Sports and listed the ‘03 Marlins along with the 2006 Cardinals, 1990 Reds, 1987 Twins and 2010 Giants. Would love for the blogger to run that list by MLB Network Radio host Rob Dibble, a member of that 1990 Reds club, to see what he thinks. He might get a spirited response. About the Marlins, the blogger implies they did not possess a championship rotation outside of Josh Beckett. So too is that point made in this list of worst World Series champions. This blogger ranks the 2003 Marlins as the sixth-worst World Series champ, writing: “when your staff ace is Carl Pavano and your best hitter is Derrek Lee, it’s hard to say anything other than you got lucky.” Ridiculous.
