Special assistant Jeff Conine, one of the players most associated with the Marlins franchise, wouldn’t be opposed to the Marlins trading Hanley Ramirez. During an interview Thursday on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz on 790 The Ticket, the club’s flagship station, Conine was asked directly if he would trade Ramirez. His answer: “If it were up to me, probably.”
Initiating the conversation was Le Batard asking Conine if Ramirez frustrated him, to which Conine responded: “On a nightly basis.”
“I think obviously Hanley is a phenomenal talent, but as a guy – I’m a probably jealous too because I didn’t have that kind of talent, but I had to work extremely hard on a nightly baiss to put my talent on the field — there are some nights he doesn’t work as hard as he should.”
