Normally a story about former Rays #1 draft pick Dewon Brazelton being arrested for busting up his fiancee and going to jail on domestic violence charges wouldn’t be worthy enough of Cuff ‘Em. But, it just happens to be MLB Draft Week. This should serve as a lesson to all you draftees who think you’ll be rich, nice to your baby mamma and an upstanding citizen.
According to the St. Pete Times:
Former Rays pitcher Dewon Brazelton was arrested and charged with hitting his fiancee during an argument at International Plaza on Friday, police said.
Brazelton, 30, of St. Petersburg was charged with battery domestic violence and arrested at 11:52 p.m. Friday, jail records show. A witness told police the couple got into an argument and he hit her in the head as she pushed away from him. The woman, who was not identified, has been living with Brazelton for six years and the two are engaged, the police report said.
Brazelton was Tampa Bay’s first-round draft pick in 2001...
